A grandson, August William "Gus" Graziano, born in 1917, was named after Agostino.
Agostino's cause of death was lobar pneumonia.
Agostino's wife, Vincenza (nee Battaglia) Zuccaro, is also buried at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN but they are NOT buried next to each other for some reason. Family speculation is that they probably didn't have enough money to buy two adjacent gravesites when Agostino died in 1923, 19 years before Vincenza died (in 1942).
Two of their three children (Maria Zuccaro Graziano and Antonio Zuccaro), a son-in-law (Giovanni Graziano), and two grandchildren (Jennie Josephine Graziano and Margaret Graziano Hecker) are also laid to rest at St. Mary's Cemetery. Agostino's other son, baby Giovanni (a twin with Antonio), passed away at "five months past four years old" in Termini Imerese, Sicily, Italy (cause and burial location unknown). May you rest in heavenly peace, Agostino. ❤
Notes:
Agostino's first and last names are incorrectly spelled on his Minnesota death certificate as "Augustine Zugarro." (Perhaps an Italian-to-English language barrier resulted in the misspellings and inaccurate translation.)
St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery records indicate Agostino's age as 65 on his February 9, 1923 death date, meaning 1857 is his year of birth, and the year engraved on his gravestone (1858) is incorrect for some reason. If Agostino was born in 1857 as family records and his City of Minneapolis Certificate of Death also indicate, Agostino would have been 65 years, 1 month, and 13 days old on his death date, perfectly aligning with the St. Mary's and death certificate records of age 65 at death. Conversely, if Agostino's gravestone year of death (1858) were correct, he would have been only 64 years, 1 month, and 13 days old on February 9, 1923, which doesn't match other known records.
