Born in Galivants Ferry, he was a son of the late Hursel Bailey Williamson and the late Frances Airvee Collins Williamson. Mr. Williamson was a member of Crosswell Baptist Church. He was a Past Master of Dutch Fork Masonic Lodge #402. Known as "The SINGER Sewing Machine Man", he owned and operated Columbia Sewing Center for many years and was an employee and store manager for the Singer Sewing Machine Company.
Survivors include three sons, Hursel Bruce Williamson, Jr. (Karen) of Rockwall, Texas, Steven Charles Williamson of Columbia, and Bryan Douglas Williamson of Lexington; one daughter, Rebecca Marlene Siguenza (Alfonso) of Charlotte; five grandchildren, Madeline Idell Williamson, Bruce Reid Williamson, Isabella Abilia Siguenza, Helena Gabriela Siguenza, and Julian Alfonso Siguenza; two brothers, John Williamson (Doris) of Marion, and Lloyd Williamson (Carolyn) of Loris; two sisters, Cassandra Hayes (Ray) of Sumter, and Helen Duros (Ed) of Aurora, Colorado; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at Crosswell Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Owens officiating.
