Son of Miley Furman and Sara Rebecca Cribb Woodberry, husband of Julia Dell McRae.

BRITTONS NECK - Liston L Woodberry, 93, died Thursday, April 12, 2018 at the Carolinian in Florence, surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 16, at Nebo Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery directed by Richardson Funeral Home of Marion.

Mr. Woodberry was born June 1, 1924, in Britton's Neck, to the late Miley F Woodberry and Sara "Sadie" Cribb Woodberry. He is also preceded in death by four sisters, Ethel Sawyer, Carrie Hooks, Anne Lovell, and Nadine Richardson.

Mr. Woodberry was a graduate of Brittons Neck High School. He was a devoted member of Nebo Baptist Church in Brittons Neck where he served in Sunday School and Training Union. He was a Deacon and awarded Deacon Emeritus.

Mr. Woodberry was a veteran of the United States Army, having served six years, including during WW II. After his military service he worked for the US Department of Agriculture measuring land. He was then employed by Miller M System in Mullins, and IGA and Marion Wholesale Grocery in Marion. Liston retired from his final job as carpenter in 1992.

Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Julia McRae Woodberry of the home; two sons, Dr. William Woodberry (Tammy) of Florence and Robert "Archie" Woodberry (Angie) of Florence; sister, Jaronie Atkinson (Benny) of Brittons Neck; 7 grandchildren; 1 step-grandchild; and 1 great-grandchild.
