In 1952, Dale was sent overseas to Korea. While serving as a Staff Sergeant, he was blinded in his right eye, sent to Japan for surgery, and returned to the U.S. in 1954 when he was honorably discharged as a disabled veteran.
Dale and his new bride, Barbara, came back to McAllen where he went to work for Central, Power and Light Company. He worked his way up to District Store Manager for the Rio Grande Valley and retired after 35 years.
The couple joined the Good Sam RV Club and enjoyed traveling with their friends. Then Dale started the Golden Kilowatt Retirement Club for those retiring for CPL. He Served both clubs holding various offices.
Dale and Barbara were blessed to spend 12 years raising their granddaughter, Crystal and enjoyed every moment.
They built their own home in 1970, where Barbara still resides today.
Dale is survived by his best friend and wife Barbara, of 64 years; his son Kevin Dale (Elizabeth); daughter Marci Lynn Hoffman (Gary); one grandson, Dylan; two granddaughters, Crystal Eaves, and Danielle Doty; and his wonderful nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held April 10, 2018 at 4:30PM at Calvary Baptist Church in Harlingen, TX on Wednesday April 11, 2018 at 10AM there will be a service of entombment and military salute at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home in La Feria, TX
In lieu of flowers the family request that all contributions be sent to Calvary Baptist Church. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Heavenly Grace Funeral Home.
