Mike Kalaman, 69 years, born August 22, 1925, in Akron, died after a short illness at Akron City Hospital on March 18, 1995.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary Kalaman, brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Vassie Kalaman, and sister-in-law, Florence Collins.

Mike was a life resident of Akron. He attended Seiberling Elementary and East High School. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Navy. He was past president of the Sons of Herman, member of the German-American Social Club, and a member of St. Bernard's Holy Name Society. He retired from Cotter Mdse. & Storage after 40 years service and was presently on the Board of Trustees for the Retired Teamsters. Mike was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Mike leaves his loving wife, Mary; son, Michael; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Tom Welsh; granddaughters, Megan, Lauren and Caitlin. He also leaves brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Pete and Jenny Bisheimer, Milt Collins, Nick and Connie Rinaldo , Jim and Joan Severin; and many nephews, nieces and grandnephews and grandnieces.

His sense of humor, unselfishness, honesty, friendship and love will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.

Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, 10 a.m. at St. Bernard Church. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hummel Funeral Home, 500 E. Exchange St., Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
