A Resident of Ames for 53 years, William Sills, 69, of 121 South Second street, died at 1;35 A.M. Tuesday at the Mary Greeley hospital. He had been ill about eight months.

Mr. Sills was born October 9, 1865, at Montpelier, Ind. He moved with his parents to Oskaloosa at the age of 10, where he resided until moving to Ames in 1882. He was married in 1885 to Estella Stoops. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife; three sons, Clarence, Carrel and Glade, all of Ames; four daughters, Mrs. Jack Elliott and Mrs. Oscar Warren, Ames; Mrs. Harley Smith, Gilbert; and Mrs. William Pfautz, Cedar Rapids. Also three sisters, Mrs. Anna Drummond, Kelley; Mrs. Margaret Breese, Mitchell, S.D.; and Mrs. W.B. Stoops, Ames; and one brother, Henry, Ames.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday from the Church of Christ, with the Rev. Ernest L. Shaffer of the United Brethren church in charge. Burial will be in Ames Cemetery.
