Ramona McClure Robinson
1930 - 2018

Early Life: Ramona was born January 15, 1930, in Compton, California, to Harry Eldon and Myra Lyman McClure, spending her childhood in the Yuba City area. She dearly loved her parents and only sibling, Eldon.
Life's Work | Service | Interests: While at Brigham Young University, Ramona met and fell in love with Reynold Dean Robinson who was preparing to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Following Dean's mission to France, they were married in the Logan Utah Temple on September 16, 1952.
❦ They established their home in San Luis Obispo, California, after Dean graduated from the UCSF Dental School. Ramona cherished their family and supported Dean in his many church assignments and professional responsibilities. Theirs was a true love story. Their three children were the crowning jewels of their lives. Denee, a beautiful daughter that has brought unmeasured joy to them was the first; soon Mark and Lyman, two sons that suffered almost insurmountable disabilities, were welcomed into the family. Ramona tenderly cared for them day and night for many years. She cherished every minute she had with them and filled their lives with as much love and joy as any mother could offer. As they grew older and lived in structured care facilities, Ramona and Dean provided constant watch care. Those boys are theirs forever. They only prayed that they would outlive their sons. Gratefully, those prayers of more than 50 years were answered and the boys were finally freed from their mortal challenges. A true mother's love never dims nor dies.
❦ Ramona and Dean adopted several hundred more sons and daughters as they presided over the France Paris Mission, giving them the large family Ramona always dreamed of. Their love for the saints and for the missionaries knew no bounds. Ramona cared for them with the same love she had for her own children. She taught, encouraged, lifted and blessed all within her reach. They truly lived and loved in such a way that their missionaries will forever call their names blessed. While always supporting her husband in his church responsibilities, Ramona also served in the Relief Society and Young Women organizations, and was active in genealogical research.
❦ In the last years of her life, her pace was slowed, but advancing years and declining memory could not rob Ramona of her unconquerable spirit, her cheerful attitude, her unshakable faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and His restored gospel or her love for family. She loves her five grandchildren: Sjani, Myra, Eliza, David and Justin. She relished every chance she had to be with them on the family ranch in Star Valley or in their home in Orem, Utah.
❦ She loved to serve them and took great delight in their growing children. Denee and her husband, Fred Jex, have been a source of great joy to Ramona and Dean. They have provided exemplary care over the years and have been an unmeasured blessing during these last difficult months. Their service will be honored and remembered eternally. Ramona McClure Robinson passed away peacefully on January 30, 2018. She was 88.
Family Message: "Earth lost and heaven won with Ramona's passing, and we will be forever grateful that her life touched ours... We can only imagine the sweet reunion that was celebrated a few days ago."
