Gilbert Booker, 84, of Elizabethtown, died, Monday, August 2, 2002, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. A native of Hardin County, he was a member of the Center Point Missionary Baptist Church in White Mills. He was a veteran of World War II and was retired from the Army and Air Force. He had worked for Shell Oil Company on an off-shore oil rig as a cook.
He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Booker and mother, Blanch Priddy Booker; two brothers, Floyd Booker and Marvin Booker; and three sisters, Nova Williams, Ermine Sullivan and Dorothy Strader.
The funeral is 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Manakee Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with Rev. Elbert Peters officiating. Burial will be in White Mills Community Cemetery.
