Monroe Osborne, 84, of Genoa, WV, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, WV. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Morris Funeral Home Chapel with Elders Charles O. Adkins and Emanuel Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain Home Cemetery, Harts, WV. He was born on October 9, 1933 in Little Harts Creek, a son of the late Taylor and Isabelle Toppins Osborne. Monroe worked as a machinist for General Motors Corporation, attended Mount Calvary Baptist Church and was a member of Frenchburg Baptist Church in Kentucky. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Tom, Edgar, and Harvey; sisters, Edna and Polly Cyfers, Relma McClellan, Hattie McClellan, Marie Stewart, and Melissa Adkins; and a grandson, Joseph Watts. Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, Sandra Ratliff Osborne; three daughters, Debbie Watts (Jerry) of Fort Gay, WV, Kathy Smallwood and Rhonda Ingram (Danny) all of Frenchburg, KY; five sons, Gary Osborne (Lois) of Ft. Gay, Bill Osborne (Judy) of Genoa, Dwight Osborne, Tim Osborne (Vicki) all of Ft. Gay, David Osborne (Missi) of Hubert Heights, Ohio; one brother, Taylor Osborne Jr., 27 grandchildren, several great and great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
