Actor. Born Robert Raymond Sutton, he was a character actor known for his roles, mostly of bad guys, in television and film during a career that span six decades. He was a three-sport star at Hollywood (Ca.) High School and continued to play football at Oregon State University. He graduated from Oregon State University as a philosophy major. He also served in the United States Army. He would later go into acting with his first role in the 1966 film "Lost Command". He would make his television debut three years later in 1969 on the series "Ironside". He would go on to appear on numerous television series throughout his career with such credits as "Baretta", "Police Story", "The Rockford Files", "Kojak", "Starsky and Hutch", "Quincy M.E.", "Scarecrow and Mrs. King", "The A-Team", "Veronica Clare", "Melrose Place", "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation", and "Ghost Whisperer". His film credits included "Dogpound Shuffle" (1975), "The Champ" (1979) "Sudden Impact" (1983), "Hoosiers" (1986), and "Almost an Angel" (1990). He also produced the film "The Ghost Dance" in 1982.
