He was a native of Madison County and a son of the late Holden and Mada Chambers Ledford. Mr. Ledford was also preceded by his wife, Frances English Ledford, sister, Louise Marshbanks and brother, Harry Ledford.
He was a U. S. Army veteran serving during WWII having earned a six star bronze medal and was retired as owner and operator
of L & M grocery and gas station.
Surviving is a daughter, Diane Hallingse and husband, Don, a son; Roy Ledford Jr., grandchildren; Bobbie, Natalie, Brooke and Mitchell Ledford, Josh and Kendall Hallingse, sister; Katherine Shoemaker, brothers; Brookshire, James T. and Herbert Ledford and 15 nieces and nephews.
The funeral - Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. The Revs. Charlie Carroway and Jerry Shelton will officiate.
