Weaverville - Martha Louise Ledford Marshbanks, 90, of 149 Hobson Branch Road, died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003.

Mrs. Marshbanks was the daughter of the late Holden M. and Mada Chambers Ledford. She was a lifelong resident of Buncombe County. She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Wendell Marshbanks; a son, Roy Ernest Marshbanks and a brother, Harry Ledford.

She is survived by her daughter, Audrey Marshbanks Brown and her husband, Kenneth, of Weaverville; a daughter-in-law, Ruth Thomas of Cordova, S.C.; a sister, Katherine Shoemaker and her husband, Joe, of Asheville; four brothers, Roy Ledford of Mars Hill, Brookshire Ledford and his wife, Alma, of Asheville, James Ledford and his wife, Nina, of Mars Hill and Herbert Ledford and his wife, Frieda, of Coolemee; three grandchildren, Cathy Kirkland and her husband, Frank, of Bamberg, S.C., Rachel McMahan and her husband, Ricky, and Shannon Webb and her husband, Mark, all of Weaverville; five great grandchildren, Jason Peek and his wife, Stacy, of Bamberg, S.C., Miranda Wheeler and her husband, Scott, Holly McMahan, and Bridget and Brandon Webb, all of Weaverville and one great-great-grandson, Colyn Peek of Bamberg, S.C.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Forks of Ivy Baptist Church, where she was a member. The Revs. Charlie Carroway and Jerry Shelton will officiate. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are John and Mike, Roy Pender, Stewart and Marshall Ledford, and Charles Jamerson.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday at Blue Ridge Funeral Service in Mars Hill. At other times the family will be at her residence.
