Desiree M. Alhum Eslick, 40, of West Pittston, passed away Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017, after losing her battle to the disease of addiction.

Born in Abington on Nov. 15, 1976, Desiree was the daughter of Bernadette Dellago-Gately, King of Prussia, and Robert Alhum, Mason, Ohio.

Desiree was a member of Corpus Christi Parish in West Pittston.

She was a graduate of Bishop O'Reilly High School, Class of 1994, and then continued her education by attending Drexel University, majoring in chemistry.

Desiree was employed by multiple large corporations as an analytical chemist for over 15 years.

Desiree's struggle with addiction has ended and she is finally at peace. This disease is cunning, baffling and powerful. Let us honor her memory and reach out to those struggling. Let them know there is help available.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Grace Eslick, on Oct. 29, and her son, Joseph Eslick, on June 13, 2008.

Desiree was a loving mom and she was most proud of her children, whom she loved dearly. Her children meant the world to her.

Desiree will be deeply missed but forever in our hearts.

In addition to her parents, Desiree, is survived by her husband, James Eslick; her sons, James and Shane Eslick; her brother, William Joseph Gately, Shavertown; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon Thursday in Corpus Christi Parish, 605 Luzerne Ave., West Pittston, with Monsignor John J. Sempa officiating. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to service time.

Interment with a committal service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Lake Park Cemetery, 701 Park Ave., Swedesboro, N.J.
