Rose Laraia Bonadies, wife of the late Antonio N. Bonadies, died peacefully on Wednesday, (February 21, 2007) at Haven Health Center in Rocky Hill. Rose was born in Hartford to the late Gennaro and Maria LaCava Laraia and was the oldest girl in a family of 14 children. After graduating from Bulkeley High School in 1928 , Rose worked at Connecticut General Life Insurance as Supervisor of Stenographic services until her retirement in 1972. She is survived by her son, Nicholas Bonadies of Rocky Hill, and his wife Mary Beth; her daughter, Geri Saracino of Bluffton, South Carolina and her husband Frank; her daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Bonadies of Rocky Hill; four cherished grandchildren, Anthony, Nicholas and Robert Bonadies, Stacie Cretella and great grandson, Anthony Michael Bonadies. She is also survived by sisters, Petrina Zocco, Eleanor Bonadies, Louise Pistorio, Mildred LeConche and Theresa Zisk all of Wethersfield; brothers, John Laraia of West Hartford and James Laraia of Punta Gorda, FL. She was predeceased by brothers, Pasquale, Rocco, Anthony, Dominic and Frank Laraia; sister, Anna Veniscofsky, and her close friend and sister-in-law, Lucy DeSanto. Rose will be fondly remembered by her children as a caring, supportive mother whose love for them was unconditional; by her grandchildren as their devoted "Mimi" whose smile could light up a room; and by all who knew her as a loyal friend and a true lady. Not a day went by when she did not miss Tony, her life companion of 42 years. Rose's last years were difficult ones and her children are very grateful for the love shown to their mother by her sisters and her brother, John and his wife Julie. Their visits to Rose and the support to the family meant a great deal.
