HAROLD HATFIELD
CHATTOROY, W.Va. — Sunrise was on May 18, 1928 and sunset was on May 21, 2017, for Harold E. Hatfield of Chattaroy. Harold was the ninth of ten children born to the late Robert L. Hatfield and Sarah Curry Hatfield.
Harold was retired from the W.Va. Department of Employment Security and was a military veteran, having served with Army Intelligence in Germany during the early 50's. Upon returning to the States he married his sweetheart, Betty Carole Neace. Betty preceded him in death in 1996.
Harold is survived by daughters, Vanessa (Raymond) Sykes of Gate City, Va. and Libby (Mark) Ott of Crossville, Tenn. ; sons, Kurt (Nana) Hatfield of Elk Creek, and Toby (Melissa) Hatfield of Chattaroy; 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 sister and 1 brother.
The family will receive friends on this evening, May 24, 2017, from 5pm to 7pm, with a memorial service beginning at 7pm.
Burial will be private with Harold being laid to rest by his wife's side at the Hatfield Cemetery at Elk Creek, W.Va.
