He was born Jan. 4, 1967, son of Joyce Funk of Boardman and the late Donald Funk of Florida.
He grew up in Columbiana, where he was a member of the Jerusalem Lutheran Church.
He worked for several years at area restaurants as a waiter while he attended high school and college.
He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Youngstown State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. He then earned his Master’s Degree in Taxation from University of Akron.
He was very proud to earn his CPA license. He worked at several different firms.
He leaves his mother; brothers Kevin (Judy) of Boardman and Jim of Portsmouth, Va.; his nephew, Matt Funk of Portsmouth; his niece, Marissa Funk of Boardman; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his father; his maternal grandparents, Evelyn and Winnie Cross of Columbiana; and paternal grandparents Marie and Elmer Funk.
There will be no services at David’s request.
David was a very loving and caring person and will be greatly missed.
