Father- William A. Penix or Pennix
Mother- Lydia Buckner
License taken out on March 8, 1878 for Elizabeth's first marriage, to Erwin Wheeler. Lizzie's second marriage was on January 31, 1903 in Buncombe County, to William Jasper Bradley. Lizzie married as Lizzie Wheeler. The 1910 census stated that Lizzie was in her second marriage, while William Bradley was in his third marriage. The informant for Lizzie's death certificate was a son-in-law, R.M. Wyatt. Burial was in Democrat, per the death certificate.

About Elizabeth's parents: Census records indicate that the couple lived in Buncombe County at least from 1850 through 1880. William was born in Virginia and Lydia, in North Carolina. William died by January,1894. A record on file with the Buncombe County Register of Deeds indicates that the heirs of the deceased William Penix sold his land. Lydia Buckner Penix was not listed as one of his heirs, which seems to indicate that she died before the land was sold. The land sale was dated January 26, 1894 and the heirs were William and Lydia's surviving children and their spouses.
