Vivian Henson, 94, passed away on Friday, December 16, 2016 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home.

A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Ethel Howell. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ulus C. Henson, who died in 1949 and a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Wayne Edmonds. Vivian worked for many years as a beautician where she owned and operated her own business. She then moved to Buncombe County to work at Square D for 18 years before retiring in 1987 and a short time later moved back to Haywood County. Vivian was a loving mother, grandmother and a special friend to many. She was a member of East Fork Baptist Church and will be greatly missed in the Cruso community.

She is survived by two daughters, Pat Russell and husband, Fred, of Canton and Carolyn Lowery and husband, Doug, of Arden; one son, David Henson and wife, Gail, of Canton; four grandsons, Chris (Dawn) Russell of Maryville, Tennessee, Kelley Henson and Dean Russell both of Canton , and Eddie Edmonds of Asheville ; four great-grandchildren, Levi (Morgan) Russell of Rockford, Tennessee, Marisa (Tyler) Doffin of Clyde, Mykayla Russell of Canton, and Macie Russell of Prosperity, South Carolina; one great-grandchild, Annalea Russell of Rockford, Tennessee; and one special cousin, Gaye Eller of Dandridge, Tennessee.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Gwyn Cemetery with the Reverend Charles Dean officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 1:30 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home of Canton.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude for the care and love that was shown to Vivian while residing at Silver Bluff Nursing Home.
