She retired from the federal government, Office of Economic Opportunity (O.E.O.) and subsequently retired from the Marietta Housing Authority. She traveled extensively in retirement and was an avid reader.
Virginia is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Joanne and Jim Allen of Marietta; grandson Hank and his wife Casey Allen of Covington, LA and several nieces and nephews.
