A big gruff teddybear – the only way you can adequately describe this man. He was adopted shortly after his birth and never knew anything about his biological parents. His teenage years were increasingly turbulent and he escalated into adulthood full speed ahead. He served in the U. S. Army and was stationed in Viet Nam. Any details of this service are very sketchy as he was extremely reluctant to talk about his time there. He returned to his home in Monticello, New York a day before the commencement of Woodstock. He ventured over to see what the commotion was all about and became a part of history. He had two brief marriages but was single the majority of his adult life. He had one son with whom relations were very strained. He married for the third time to Rebecca Sheehan (me) on March 4, 2001. He was diagnosed with sequamous cell carcinoma of the sinus in April, 2007. He fought hard, but lost his battle in December, 2008. Through it all, he was brave and purposefully kept trying to smile and laugh every day. His other love was his dog, Harry. He rescued the chocolate lab from the shelter, and they were fast friends to the end. As he requested, he was cremated and his cremains are with me. Harry crossed the Rainbow Bridge to be with Mark and I know they are together. You can read the story of his battle at www.http://canceriskillingme.blogspot.com/Formerly of Monticello, NY
