George was born on May 1, 1924, in New York, NY and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a pilot during World War II. He received his LL.B. from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1950 and retired from the U.S. Federal Court of Claims in 1985.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Sellers Willi; sons, George J. Willi and wife, Karen of Harrisonburg and Brian Willi of Harrisonburg; daughter, Jean Willi of Mt. Solon; stepson, Richard D. Meadows of McGaheysville; stepdaughter, Donna Hooe and husband, Stephen of Fredericksburg; two grandchildren, Michael G. Willi, and Allison W. Metzler; and five step-grandchildren, Lindsay Bowers, Jennifer Cern, Jonathan Hooe, Ashley Hooe, and Christopher Hooe.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a stepson, Bill Meadows.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2016, at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in McGaheysville with the Rev. Adam Blagg officiating.
