Alma Stovall Ferguson, 92, formerly of Lawsonville, NC, died Sunday, November 19, 2006, at Morehead Memorial Hospital in Eden, NC. She was born in Stokes County, NC, on September 10, 1914, to W.R. Stovall and Ida Hill Stovall. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Ferguson; five brothers, Russell, Riley, Reid, Robert, and Morris Stovall; and three sisters, Cora Nickelston, Gracie Poore, and Marie Clugston. She retired from Washington Mills and was a member of Peters Creek Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Dixie Darby of Martinsville, VA, and Betty "Jo" Johnson of Reidsville, NC; two grandsons; one granddaughter; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
