According to the book "Tainter History," (page 61) on May 6, 1816, Asenath married Simon Tainter, a pioneer of the town now known as Carthage, Maine. Her husband was the Town Treasurer and Selectman.
They had at least five children:
Alsworth, b. Sept. 27, 1816; m. Caroline Gould, of Carthage, Me. Jan. 9, 1844.
Wyman V., b. Jan. 1, 1822; m. Susan F. Wilson, of W. Cambridge, Mass., May 7, 1848; m., 2d, Mary Maxfield, of Carthage, Me., Aug. 2, 1855.
Gilbert L., b. June 13, 1825; m. Semantha O. Fuller, of Carthage, March 27, 1853.
Rosilla H., b. July 22, 1828; m. Dr. J. M. Corrison, of Standish, Me., Aug. 3, 1852. He died June 19, 1857, ae. 36, at Woodville, Miss. Mrs. Corrison resided in Portland, Me.
Christopher C., b. Feb. 8, 1836.
All of their children were born in Carthage, Maine.
