Louis E. Meyer, age 90, of Greenville, Ohio, formerly of Troy, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2010, at Hospice of Dayton, Dayton, Ohio. He was born on December 1, 1919, in Troy, Ohio to the late Louis A. and Clara Handle Meyer. His wife of 68 years, Nonie H. Horton Meyer, survives. Other survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: Thomas R. and Peggy Meyer, Timothy E. and Jean L. Meyer; one daughter and son-in-law, Nonie L. and Danny Chick; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. In addition to his parents, Mr. Meyer was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Burkholder. He was a graduate of Troy High School and served as Corporal in the US Army Air Force during WWII. He was an active life-long member and Past Exalted Ruler of the Troy Elks; a member of Knights of Columbus and St. Marys Catholic Church, Greenville. Louis was former Mayor of Wayne Lakes, Ohio and a longtime member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Troy where he was an usher and a member of the choir. He was formerly employed by Waco Aircraft Company, Troy Sunshade Company and Braun Brothers in Troy. A memorial mass will be held at 10:30AM on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Troy with Rev. Fr. James Duell officiating. Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday from 4-8PM at Baird Funeral Home, Troy with Elks Lodge of Sorrow Service at 7:00PM. (Full obituary Baird Funeral Home)
