Hershel A Meriwether, 81 died Thursday, October 26, 2006 at Harrison County Hospital. He was born June 21, 1925 in Crawford Co., IN, to the late Roy D. and Clara Belle Nicholson Meriwether.
He was a retired pipefitter for the Local #136 Pipefitters Union in Evansville and a World War II Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Lorene L. Pierson Meriwether; a son, David H. Meriwether; and daughters, Rose Duncan, Janet Emily and Sara Beth Meriwether; eight grand-children; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, October 30, 2006 at the Brown-Newkirk Funeral Home, Milltown, IN. Visitation will be on Sunday, October 29, 2006 from 4-8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday, October 30, 2006. Burial will follow in the Goodman Ridge Cemetery. Rev. Philo Jones will officiate. Military Grave site rites will be performed by the Milltown American Legion Post #332.
