Clarence Harman Jr., 83, of Solana Road, Carlsbad, N.M., passed away Friday, March 9, 2012, at Covenant Specialty Hospital in Lubbock, Texas.
Clarence Harman Jr. was born June 17, 1928, in Anadarko, Okla., to Clarence and Ethel (Courtney) Harman Sr. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, building bases and infrastructure. Clarence married Sue Harman Dec. 19, 1958, in Artesia, N.M. He worked in the potash mines for 41 years. Clarence enjoyed working in his yard, fishing and hunting. He also loved spending time with his dogs, J.J. and Walley. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary "Sue" Harman in 2010; daughter-in-law, Stephanie Shipley Harman; and four sisters.
He is survived by his son, Brian Wray Harman and wife, Michelle of Artesia, N.M.; daughter, Alyssa Dawn Lujan of Capitan, N.M.; son, David Lujan of Capitan, N.M.; six grandchildren: Nikki Harman, McKamye Harman, Kyle Shannon, Lorri Harman, Joshua Harman, Carri Harman and Buddy Harman; four great-grandchildren: Braden Harman, Alyson Faye Reagan, Sadie Elizabeth Reagan and Isabelle Bryant; two brothers: Charlie Harman of Lubbock, Texas, and Jimmy Harman of Lubbock, Texas; five sisters: Annabelle Bostick of Roswell, N.M., Bertha Allen of Roswell, N.M., Mabel Lard of Roswell, N.M., Shirley Murray of Roswell, N.M., and Reba Pearson of McAlister, Okla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
