Miss Ida Mikels, daughter of George W. Mikels, of this city, died Monday morning at her home in Romney. She was stricken with quinsy a week ago and a few days later her heart became weak, causing her death. She was born near Romney February 22, 1874, all her life was spent in that vicinity. For 19 years she had been a school teacher at the Romney school. She was a member of the Methodist church. Besides the father, she leaves the following brothers and sisters: Lewis, Frank and Arthur Mikels, of Romney; Mrs. Frank Butler of New Richmond; Mrs. James Barker, of Romney, and Mrs. Ivan Bowerman, of Linden. The funeral was held Wednesday.
