Elmer L. Mikels, 81, retired farmer on R.2 near Yeoman, died at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday in Logansport state hospital where he had been a patient two weeks. Born in Tippecanoe County, he married Nettie Chapman of Yeoman on 16 July 1921 and belonged to the Yeoman Methodist church.
Survivors besides his widow are a daughter, Mrs. Stella Behrens, Detroit, and a son, William, of Indianapolis.
Funeral rites were held at the Prevo funeral home in Monticello Sunday afternoon. Rev. Ray Mitchell of Yeoman officiated. Burial was made at Yeoman Cemetery.
His first married Jenny Wells in Montgomery Co., IN on 26 October 1892.
He then married Mary D. Eudaly Howe in Clinton Co., IN on 14 October 1912.
