Barbara was one of five children born to Elizabeth C. (Knight) and Charles Robert Witt, Sr. On May 4, 1973 she married Daniel R. Callaway and together they had four children: Rebecca L., Melissa, Daniel and Sara.

Age 54, Passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2001, at Cherry Meadows in Appleton. She was born September 30, 1946 in Omro, the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth (Knight) Witt. She married Daniel R. Callaway on May 4, 1974, and he survives her. Barbara was employed at St. Elizabeth Hospital for 15 years and then went to work for the Appleton Visiting Nurses Association. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Menasha. Barbara enjoyed craftwork, cooking and camping. In addition to her husband Daniel R., she is survived by a son, Daniel C., at home; daughters Melissa and her fiancé Greg, of Shiocton; and Sara, at home. Barbara is also survived by her mother, Elizabeth Witt; granddaughters, Angelenna Callaway, and Kaylee Wunderlich; two brothers, Charles (Debbie) Witt and Kevin Witt, all of Neenah; two sisters, Jean (Dean) Curtis of Menasha; Nancy (Carlton) Kirchner of Kaukauna; father-in-law, Jack Callaway of West Bloomfield; five brothers-in-law, Robert (Darcy) Callaway of Neenah; Richard (Sherry) Callaway of West Bloomfield; Gerry (Linda) Callaway of Menasha; James (Cathy) Callaway of Menasha; Glenn (Dorothy) Callaway of Menasha; and one sister-in-law, Shirley (Gordon) Allen of Kansas. Barbara was preceded in death by a daughter Rebecca Lynn; her father, Charles Witt; and her mother-in-law, Carol Callaway. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 17, 2001 , 11 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church, Menasha. Visitation will be held Monday, July 16, 2001, at Laemmrich Community Funeral Home, Menasha, from 4 to 6 p.m. Visitation will also be at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services. There will be a prayer service on Monday evening at 6 p.m. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. A memorial has been established.
