Came to California as a soldier from Mexico in 1825. Married Maria Ramona Carrillo on August 4, 1826 at San Diego Presidio (SD Marriage 01609a). Father of Jose Antonio Romualdo Pacheco, Jr., who became the 12th Governor of California under the United States. Served as an aide to both Governor José María de Echeandía and Governor Manuel Victoria. Fought Captain Jose Maria Avila at the Battle of Cahuenga Pass. Both men were killed, the only deaths in the engagement. Buried on December 6, 1831 (LA Death 00141).
