Son of Carl Bonk & Josepha Maciol Bonk of Germany. John was baptized on Dec. 17, 1865, at St. Katarzyny Church, Pawonkau, Silesia, Germany. He immigrated to the US in 1892, and married Mary Sentowski Karch at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Chicago, Cook, IL, on Oct. 22, 1895. They were married for more than 54 years.
