He was united in marriage May 2, 1896, to Amy Chambers. To this union eleven children were born. Surviving are Mrs. Myrtle Lynch, Long Beach, Calif.; Mrs. Lucille Freise, St. Louis, Mo.; Mrs. Ruby Roberts, Mack, Colo.; Virgil, Summersville; Othel, Martinsburg, Mo.; Marvin of Elk Creek, Mo.; and Dennis, of Omaha, Neb. Two girls and one boy preceded him in death.
He leaves 19 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren, also one sister, Emma Houser, LaJaunta, Colo.
He was a retired farmer and spent most of his time in the Yukon community. Due to ill health he was moved to St. Louis six years ago to the home of his daughter Lucille.
Services were Monday in the Yukon church with the Rev. Payton Smyer officiating. Burial was in the Big Creek cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home of Houston.
