Thomas McEneaney was born in County Monaghan, Ireland in 1845. He was the sixth (known) child of Bernard McEneaney and Anne Markey. Thomas grew up on a farm located between the villages of Billeady and Corlealackagh. Thomas emigrated to New York about 1865. By 1869, he was living in Dunn County, Wisconsin. Four of his siblings also emigrated to Wisconsin, though Thomas’ parents and remaining four siblings died in Ireland. In 1877, Thomas married Margaret Anne Ryan in Menomonie, Dunn County, Wisconsin. They lived on a farm in Springfield Township, St. Croix County, Wisconsin where they raised eight children. Thomas died in 1905 at the age of 60. He shares a stone with his son, Nicholas.
