Paulina Downs' maiden name was not Bremer. It was Roedel. The surname, Bremer, came from her first husband, William Brehmer, who was the father of her daughter Clara Wilamae Brehmer. The daughter married William F. Stadler, and the widow, Paulina Downs, lived in their household in 1930 and 1940.
