Robert Frank Krahmer was born on August 18, 1926 to Frank and Louise (Ask) Krahmer in Martin County, Minnesota. He received his early education in country school before attending Welcome Public Schools where he graduated with the Class of 1944. On July 7, 1944 he enlisted in the United States Navy serving until his honorable discharge on June 8, 1946. Robert then was employed for the Railroad in Pennsylvania. He later moved back to Martin County. On March 7, 1947 he was united in marriage to Shirley Sansen at the Lutheran Parsonage in Truman, Minnesota. After their marriage he worked as a farmhand by Iowa Lakes for Mr. Simpson until moving to their present farm in Waverly Township. Robert farmed and later was employed at the Coast to Coast Store, Ford Garage and 3M all in Fairmont. He also was a Deputy Jailor for Martin County. Robert then was employed at the Fairmont Railway Motors until his retirement. He also served in the National Guard for over twenty years. Robert was a life-member of the Oles Reader Bosshart American Legion Post #115 of Truman and the Martin County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1222. He belonged to the Retired Military Group of Minnesota and South Central and North Central Iowa. Robert was a member of the Prairieland Antique Tractor Club of Fairmont. He greatly enjoyed tinkering and working on things.

On Monday morning, September 18, 2006, Robert died at the Fairmont Medical Center, Fairmont, Minnesota at the age of Eighty years.
Robert is survived by his wife of 59 years, Shirley Krahmer of rural Truman, Minnesota; his children, son, Michael Krahmer of rural Truman,Minnesota, daughter, Roberta Teran of Chico, California, son, Timothy Krahmer of rural Fairmont, Minnesota and his special friend, Brenda Bellcain, daughter, April Krahmer of rural Truman, Minnesota and son, David Krahmer of Red Wing, Minnesota; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Ardis Perrine of Fairmont, Minnesota; brother, Richard Krahmer of Garrison, Minnesota and his special friend, Liz Otterness; nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Emory and other relatives.
