Ms. Janis Brown Marlow, age 82, of Lithia Springs, GA passed away Friday, February 19, 2016.
She was born August 24, 1933 in McDaniel, KY. Ms. Marlow was a 1950 graduate of St. Joseph’s Catholic High School. She was the first lady to drive a school bus for the Grayson County School System in Kentucky. Ms. Marlow served as a Communicant of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and also was the organist. After moving to Douglas County, she was a volunteer at the HCA Parkway Medical Center and the Tanner Medical Center of Villa Rica. She served as the Douglas County ASPCA Representative, the Executive Board of Cobb County Association for Business Women, and as Treasurer of the Homeowners Association of Rosehill Community.
Ms. Marlow was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Eulah Brown; brother, Harold Denver Brown, and half-brother, Joseph Scott Brown.
She is survived by a son, Scott; three daughters, Glenna Marie Marlow, Keitha Marlow Johnson, and Marsha Webb Younce; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, February 22, 2016. Following the visitation, Ms. Marlow will be transported to the Watson-Hunt Funeral Home, 2373 Elizabethtown Road, Leitchfield, Kentucky 42754.
There will be a Rosary Service at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 24, 2016. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, February 25, 2016 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
