He traveled the world and was able to easily make not just new friends but lifelong friends. His easy going nature, his spontaneous laugh, and his uplifting smile coupled with his accepting, kind, and understanding personality contributed to his ability to radiate people towards him. He engulfed those around him with his happy and free-spirited nature. He didn’t frown upon failures but looked upon them as learning lessons. Though, probably the most inspirational characteristic of Kurtland was his desire to surround those around him with happiness. His wisdom and worldly experience attributed him to becoming THE person to call when seeking advice. When he was asked upon for help, he didn’t step into a situation seeking personal gain or reasons on why he should help but rather with the outlook on how he could help to the best of his potential.
Kurtland had this magical way about him- turning dreams into reality. Kurtland obtained his medical degree from Yale Medical School and spent his life helping and saving the lives of others. As an Emergency Medicine Doctor, Kurtland sought to remove his patients’ painful expressions to smiles that matched his own.
