"William Simpkins, age 57, died at his home on Williams Street Saturday morning at 9:30 o'clock after an extended illness.
Mr. Simpkins was born in Wayne County, Iowa on October 12, 1866. He is survived by his widow and one daughter, Mrs. James Keith of this city. His father, Albert Simpkins; one sister, Mrs. Melissa Mundon of St Joseph and a half-sister, Mrs. Henry Lamb of this city, also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock Monday morning conducted by Rev. R.C. Snodgrass, pastor of the First Christian Church. Interment will be in Edgewood." The Daily Constitution, April 12, 1924
