Thomas was the son of David Osborn and Lydia Davis. He married Celia Poe August 20, 1816 in in Guilford, NC. They had six children: Allen, William D, David Madison, Sarah Jane, Matthew Emery, and Mary Ann. Thomas and family moved to Kansas, where he died.
