Mrs. Vera Creel, 83, widow of George Julian Creel, Jr., passed away peacefully at her daughter's home on Friday, January 8, 2016.
Born June 19, 1932 in Johnsonville, SC she was the daughter of the late Robert Leon Thompson and the late Mary Haselden Thompson. Mrs. Creel was a member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Conway where she taught Sunday School and led the GA's. She and her husband often sang together in Church as well. Mrs. Creel worked at Myrtle Beach Manor and Jordan Care Center for many years as a caregiver. She loved spending time with her family and always opened her home to extended family members and many of them called her their second Mom. Mrs. Creel also enjoyed working in her yard and tending her flowers. Mrs. Creel was a graduate of Johnsonville High School and attended Holmes College of the Bible in Greenville and Baptist Hospital Nursing School in Columbia. She was predeceased by her husband, her parents, four sisters, and four brothers.
A graveside service will be held at 3:30PM Sunday, January 10, 2016 at Hillcrest Cemetery officiated by Rev. Rebecca Jones. The family will receive friends at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel, from 2:00PM-3:00PM Sunday.
