A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Clifford and Elva Worley Davis. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Pearl Early and two brothers, Odell "R.C." Davis and J.B. Davis.
Carl retired from Ball Glass in 1993 after 25 years of service. He then founded Davis Stump Grinding, which is still operated by his son today. A US Army veteran serving in Vietnam, Carl was an avid fisherman and was always willing to help others.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at Cedar Mountain Baptist Church with Reverend Jimmy Page and Reverend Charles Rogers officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 PM on Sunday at the church. A private interment will be held on Monday at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
