He was preceded in death by his father, Nathaniel Copeland; one sister, Carol Copeland; two brothers, Karl Copeland and Peter Thomas. He is survived by his loving and devoted life partner, Gloria Dudley; his mother, Ella Williams Thomas; three brothers, Walter Thomas, Stennis Thomas and Ellis Thomas; two sisters, Sandra Malloy and Wendy Thomas; along with a host of other family and friends. Remains rest at Mimms Funeral Home, 1827 Hull St., where the family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, July 24, 2015. Rev. Ronald C. Taylor Sr. officiating. Interment Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia, 12 noon, on Monday, July 27, 2015.
