Nell Grimsley Morris, 67, of Wilson, died Wednesday. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Joyner' s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway. The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m., prior to the service. Pastor Alan Gibson will officiate. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. Nell loved life, people, especially children, and contributed greatly to the community through her work as an Adoption/Foster Care Supervisor at Wilson County Department of Social Services. Her highest calling was being mother to Dee and Marlo, whom she adored.
She is survived by a daughter, Marlo Grimsley Morris; a son, Dennis L. "Dee" Morris Jr., and girlfriend, Lisa Luper; and a sister Edith Grimsley Parris and husband, Newman, all of Wilson; a niece, Terri Radford and husband, Henry, of Stantonsburg; one nephew, William "Al" Parris and wife, Carlette, of Elm City; a great-niece, Jessica Parris of Elm City; two great-nephews, Brian Parris of Elm City and Christopher Howard of Wilson; and a special friend Sandi Williams and husband, Bill, of Bailey.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Magnolia Lucas Grimsley.
