Mrs. Eugene Clifton Lambert of Benson, 72, of 509 N. Lincoln Street, died Thursday, July 16, 2009, at Betsey Johnson Regional Hospital.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Benson Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Michael Edwards.

Mrs. Lambert was born April 22, 1937, in Johnston County to the late Paul Lincoln and Floy Stephenson Clifton. She was a member of Benson Baptist Church, Banner Home Demonstrations Club and Banner Post 109 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

Surviving include her husband, W.R. "Billy" Lambert of Benson; daughter, Carolyn Lambert of Benson; sons and daughters-in-law, Richard R. "Ricky" and Susan Lambert of Winterville, W. Royce Jr. and Tina Lambert of Angier; sisters Marjorie Wallace of Benson and Judy Smith of Lillington; Paul L. Clifton Jr. of Smithfield and Ellis Harold Clifton of Benson; grandchildren, Emily Lambert, Adam Lambert, Jeffrey Lambert, Jessica Lambert, Abbie Lambert, E. Victoria Lambert, and Daniel Lambert.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6-8 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson. Flowers are welcomed however, memorials may be made to Benson Baptist Church, P.O. Box 323, Benson, N.C. 27504. Condolences may be sent to www.RoseGrahamFuneralServices.com
