Mrs. Marjorie Hackett Robinson, age 82, of Rome, passed away Sunday morning, October 25, 2015, in a local health care facility.

Mrs. Robinson was born in Rome, Georgia on August 12, 1933, daughter of the late Prince Shaw and the late Clara Ellen Lanham Shaw. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie F. "Jim" Robinson, on July 12, 2005. She was of the Baptist faith and played the piano for South Broad Baptist Church for a number of years. Mrs. Robinson received her Bachelor's degree in Early Education from Shorter College. She taught at Krannert Elementary School and then retired from Pepperell Elementary.

Survivors include a brother, Harold Shaw; Godchildren, Dena Heard and Richard Cooper; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at 3pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Dr. Dale Levan officiating. Private interment will be at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Tuesday from 2pm until the service time. At other hours, they will be at their respective residences.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org.

Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, has charge of the funeral arrangements.
