Funeral services for Mr. Grover Wood, age 82 of Delta, will be Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Randolph County. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
Mr. Wood passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at the Lineville Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was a native of Clay County but had lived in Tifton, Georgia where he worked in the construction industry for over 40 years. Mr. Wood retired and returned to Clay County in 1995. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Mr. Wood is survived by one daughter, Diane Durham (Robert) and one son, Larry Wood, both of Chicago, IL; two sisters: Louise Stephens of Anniston and Ann Morris of Delta; two brothers: Monroe Wood of Delta and Edward Wood of Anniston; two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: John Wood and Victoria Trammell Wood and one son, Gary Wood.
The Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Deacons will serve as pallbearers.
