Mrs. Howard was the wife of Tommy Howard, retired editor of the Georgetown Times.
She was born September 17, 1945, in Easton, PA, a daughter of the late Paul Roy Oberly, Sr., and the late Ruth Buss Oberly.
She graduated from the University of South Carolina in Columbia. She had retired from Blue Cross-Blue Shield Insurance of South Carolina. She also was a realtor who worked with the Georgetown Agency.
For many years, she was a volunteer for Birthright of Georgetown.
She was survived by her husband of Georgetown; a son Thomas (Niki) Howard Jr. and three grandchildren, Sydni Thomas, Hayden Howard, and Henley Howard; a brother, Paul (LaVera) Oberly, Jr., of Country Club Hills, IL; a sister-in-law, Kathy Mammana Oberly of Columbia, SC; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents of Kutztown, PA; and a brother, David Oberly of Columbia, SC.
A memorial service and funeral Mass was Monday, September 14, 2015, in Precious Blood of Christ Catholic Church, Pawleys Island. Goldfinch Funeral Home was in charge.
