Norma M. Miller, 86, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2015, at Deaconess Gateway. She was born February 14, 1929, in Freelandville, IN.
Norma was a faithful servant of Bluegrass United Methodist Church.
She was the Valedictorian for the class of 1946 at Freelandville High School.
She married the love of her life, Bill Miller, in 1950. Bill and Norma were Rural Youth Advisors and 4-H Leaders and were recipients of the Rural Urban Award. She was active in the Vanderburgh County Fair.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Miller, mother, Dorothy Polk, and brother, Gerald Polk.
She is survived by her daughter, Beth Schmitt, of Haubstadt, IN; son, Mike Miller, of Evansville; grandchildren, Adam Schmitt (Missy), Dru Schmitt (fiancé Robert Moreland), Jordan Schmitt (Amanda), Megan Miller, and Erin Miller (fiancé Andy Zunk); great grandchildren, Lyla Schmitt, Brantley Schmitt, and Hudson Schmitt; and brother Paul Polk.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at Blue Grass UMC Chapel Campus, officiated by Rev. Doug Heiman, with burial in Bluegrass Cemetery. Friends may visit Tuesday from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Alexander North Chapel and Wednesday from 9:00 AM until service time at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Blue Grass United Methodist Church, 14240 Petersburg Road, Evansville, IN 47725 and Vanderburgh 4-H Center, 201 E Boonville-New Harmony Road, Evansville, IN 47725.
