Deborah Wray Bristol, 62, of 132 Victor Drive, Shelby, N.C., wife of Sonny Bristol, answered the Master’s call Sunday morning, July 26, 2015, at her residence.
Daughter of Winfred Wray of Boiling Springs, N.C., and the late Pearlie Mae Miller, she was born on July 30, 1952, in Cleveland County, N.C.
She was a member of Green Bethel Baptist Church, a graduate of Crest High School in Shelby and was last employed by Dicey Mills in Shelby.
In addition to her husband and father, she is survived by four children, Sharon Bristol, Rodney Bristol, Tonya Bristol, all of Shelby, and Sonny Bristol, Jr. (Stephanie) of Lattimore, N.C.; four sisters, Awana Barnette (Ali) of Charlotte, Connie Wray, Sidney Wray, both of Boiling Springs, N.C., and Felicia Shelton (Roy) of Forest City, N.C.; six brothers, Raymond Wray (Leanne), Ricky Wray and Kevin Wray, all of Boiling Springs, N.C., Thomas Withrow of Washington, D.C., Timothy Wray (Ellen) of Austin, Texas, and Eric Wray (Sherry) of Shelby; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two god-children, Javondia Hamrick and Vershawn Hamrick, both of Boiling Springs, N.C.; a special friend, Gladys McSwain of Shelby; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 30, at 2 p.m. at Green Bethel Baptist Church in Boiling Springs, N.C., with the Rev. Wade Wallace, the Rev. Robert Lipscomb, the Rev. Robert Dover, Elder Tyvin McSwain and Pastor Linda Hardin officiating. Interment will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park, Boiling Springs. She will lie instate from noon until the hour of the service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service
