Christopher "Chris" Kerns, 53, husband of Renee E. (Owens) Kerns, of 542 S. Pine Run Road, Linden, Pa., passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2015, at Roaring Branch, Pa.
Born in Darby, (Delaware County) Pa., on Aug. 29, 1961, he was the son of the late William J. and Eleanor (Keyser) Kerns.
Renee and Chris were wed on February 18, 1984 and shared over 31 years of marriage together.
Chris was employed as a driver's license examiner for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for the past 8 years.
He was a parishoner of St. Luke Catholic Church, Jersey Shore, Pa.
Chris was a member of the Woodward Township Fire Co. and was the former municipal emergency management coordinator. He was a life member of the Briarcliffe Fire Co., of Glenolden, Pa.
Along with his wife, he is survived by a sister, Kass of Linden; a brother, of Wallingford, Pa.; two sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by three brothers, William, James and Joseph; and a sister, Margaret Kerns.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at the St. Luke Catholic Church, 120 Kendall Ave., Jersey Shore, Pa., with Fr. Bert S. Kozen as Celebrant.
Final Commendation and Farewell will be held in Jersey Shore Cemetery, Jersey Shore, Pa.
